Our Boarding House
As a modern and purpose built building, Burnbrae House was designed to meet the needs of our pupils.
Lomond was the first school in Scotland to offer co-educational boarding with boys and girls on separate floors. We believe we are unique in Scotland in that brothers and sisters from the same family can live, not just at the same school, but in the same boarding house.
The floors are separated by a biometric security system ensuring safety and privacy and wifi is available in the communal areas.
Boarders are mostly housed in twin en-suite rooms. The house is well maintained and boarders have access to attractive common rooms designed by the residents themselves. The house eco-committee is very active in suggesting enhancements. Boarders have access to their own AstroTurf pitches and a gym in the basement. The kitchen is, like many family homes, the hub of the house and allows boarders the possibility of preparing snacks and meals at the weekend. All boarders’ breakfasts and evening meals are served in the house with lunch being taken in school during the school week.
All laundry is done on site by Lomond School staff and is managed by the Matrons. Individual attention is paid to the living requirements of all boarders by the pastoral care team of Houseparents and resident tutors. Burnbrae is a modern, safe, attractive and friendly environment in which to live.
