Boarding
Boarding at Lomond School has a distinctly family atmosphere. With boarders of different ages and backgrounds living in the house we aim to create a homely environment where our resident pupils can feel that they have the same rights and responsibilities as if they were living at home. Staff and pupils, boys and girls, live, work, eat and socialise together in a relaxed and secure atmosphere.
Marcus, S6, Head of Burnbrae House 21/22
Marcus joined Lomond School in Senior 3 when he was 14 years old. As a boarder from Hong Kong he has faced a challenging few years with lockdown and isolation periods making travelling home to visit family very difficult. Throughout his time at Lomond Marcus has gained an excellent grasp on the English language and has flourished both socially and academically. As well as being Head of House, he plays a key role in many school clubs, events and is an asset to the school. In his final few months here, Marcus reflects on his time at Lomond School and how boarding and studying in Helensburgh has helped him to become the best version of himself. He is looking forward to studying Mathematics at the University of Stirling; one of his four unconditional university offers.
