Hockey
Hockey is the main girls’ sport at Lomond School and is played throughout the winter and spring terms.
The school fields up to 8 teams, regularly competing against other schools in the west of Scotland and further afield. The emphasis is on providing all girls in every year group the opportunity to play competitive hockey on Saturday mornings and in mid-week fixtures.
Home matches are played on the school’s own floodlit astroturf pitch and also during the indoor season in the Lomond Sports Hall. The school competes in both district and national competitions in both indoor and outdoor versions of the sport.
A number of Lomond hockey players have gained district and national honours. Our most recent internationalist, Nicola Skrastin, plays hockey for Scotland and represented her country in the 2014 and 2018 Commonwealth Games.
