Sport
At Lomond School there is an activity for everyone to enjoy ranging from the traditional team sports of Rugby and Hockey to the more individual pursuits of Archery and Sailing.
Sport and fitness are integral to life at Lomond School and pupils from Pre-School right up to Senior 6 enjoy Physical Education as part of the curriculum. At Lomond we stress the benefits for health and wellbeing through the “sport for all” philosophy and many pupils take pride in representing Lomond in weekly team fixtures whilst benefiting from the mentoring and support of our dedicated team of PE teachers and sports coaches.
We are proud to have a number of successful sports men and women amongst our alumni, including sailing Olympian, Charlotte Dobson and sailing silver medalist, Anna Burnet. For those pupils who display a natural aptitude for sport, and are interested in taking this to the next level, our Elite Athletes Club provides support, guidance and training requirements, whilst also helping each individual to manage academic study.
Team Sport
While playing team sport has many health benefits for our pupils, we also recognise its place in stimulating a great many skills and attributes in our young people, which can be easily applied to life off the sports field.
Other Sport
Our young people enjoy a wide choice of extra-curricular sports from skiing, climbing, archery and yoga to water sports including dinghy and keelboat sailing and canoeing.
Sports Facilities
Our state-of-the-art sports centre and extensive sports fields provide the perfect setting for a wide range of team and individual games and activities.
