For many of our pupils, their Lomond School journey begins at age 3 in our sector leading Nursery, housed within our Junior School building, Clarendon which provides a warm and friendly environment for our youngest children to develop and grow. In the same building as our Primary 1 to 5 classes, our nursery children feel part of the Lomond School family from the very start.
Central to our ethos is the conviction that learning should be fun and nowhere is this more evident than in our Nursery setting. Our highly qualified staff deliver exciting and engaging activities which develop skills indoors and out. Throughout the day our children are engaged in a combination of active, child led activities and their learning is enhanced further by access to stimulating sessions delivered by subject specialists in French, Music and PE.
Outdoor Learning – With our own gardens and sports grounds, a plethora of fantastic locations on our doorstep and a fleet of mini-buses at our disposal, early years at Lomond is packed full of exciting outdoor trips and experiences.
Specialist Subjects – As part of an ‘all through’ school, our early years pupils have access to subject specialists covering PE, languages, art, drama, music, health and food technology, science and adventure and service. These opportunities enhance the curriculum and bring learning to life for our youngest pupils.
Wrap-around Provision – We understand that family life can be hectic which is why we are open from 8.20 in the morning (Mon-Fri) and 3.30 to 4.45 in the afternoon (Mon-Thurs) to provide wrap around care outside of the core nursery hours. Details of the associated cost can be provided by our Registrar.
Learn More – Our Registrar, Jonathan Hewat, will be happy to discuss individual circumstances and arrange an individual tour of the school or an informal chat with our Head of Junior School, Ailsa Lawn.
