Lomond School Nursery kicked off the first of the school’s festive events last week with their annual Nativity.
The nursery children performed ‘Humph the Camel’ to a sold-out audience of parents, grandparents and family members. Humph, played by James Rusk, is a very grumpy camel who doesn’t show the slightest bit of interest in anything. However, we finally see a caring side to Humph and he is overjoyed to meet the new baby Jesus.
The young cast had been rehearsing for many weeks and they were so excited to finally have a real audience. The three and four-year-old performers did a wonderful job on the huge stage in Lomond School’s St Brides Hall and they looked sensational in their costumes. The Head of Nursery, Laura Canero, was thrilled with the performance and was so proud of the children. Mrs Canero said there are huge benefits for young children from participating in a performance such as this. Staff observed an increase in confidence and communication skills in their young learners. They found that this safe environment really enables children to express themselves and explore and improve their talents, all in a fun way.
