We are ecstatic to discover that the Lomond School Nursery has come out on top of the 2023 Sunday Times Nursery School League Table. Over 3,300 nurseries featured in the table from every council area in Scotland.
The 2023 Sunday Times childcare league table uses data from the Care Inspectorate Datastore, a spreadsheet updated monthly by the regulator. The information in the table was taken from the official June dataset, the most recent figures available. Nurseries are ranked on a six-point scale from unsatisfactory to excellent, across four measures assessing the quality of care, the state of the building and setting, staffing and leadership. They are also allocated a three-point risk score of low, medium or high to identify providers that might be in need of closer monitoring. The average points for Scotland was 17.8, Lomond Nursery achieved a score of 24, the highest possible score.
Ailsa Lawn, Head of Junior School and Nursery at Lomond School said: “Every day, we try to make sure that we capture the imaginations of our youngest pupils. All of this starts with valuing the importance of relationships and an ethos of care. It is always extra special when our beliefs and our work is validated by inspectors and we are thrilled to be given this accolade.”
